GIDEON -- The Portageville Lady Bulldogs captured the championship of the Lady Bulldog Classic in Gideon on Saturday.

Undefeated Portageville (5-0) handed Campbell a 48-35 loss to claim the title.

Hannah Rone led Portageville with 15 points and Kellye Penn added 11 with a team-high eight rebounds. Brittney Walker scored eight points and Deanna Deere had six with seven rebounds.

New Madrid County Central (3-2) placed fourth, suffering a loss to Caruthersville in the third-place game.

Portageville hosts Charleston and NMCC hosts Cape Girardeau Notre Dame today.
