DEXTER -- Demaris Stephens, 96, died Feb. 10, 2007, in the Cypress Point Health Care at Dexter.

Born Nov. 13, 1910, at Dexter, daughter of the late Alfred and Lula Hough Clark, she was a graduate of Dexter High School, former owner and operator of Stephens Grocery Store and a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On March 26, 1944, at Piggott, Ark., she married Ernest Milton Stephens who preceded her in death on March 17, 1986.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Hollie Clark; and three sisters, Virginia Wright and two in infancy.

She is survived by one son, Dallas Parks of San Antonio; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. Dr. Vyron Yount will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
