BENTON -- The Mack Racing, Inc. team and Dirt Late Model driver Joey Mack have recently concluded their version of the 2006 racing season.
Joey mainly competed on the Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) circuit this year, as he finished tenth in the final series point standings.
On his way to the tenth place spot in points, the Benton, Missouri native racked up one Top Five run and six Top Ten finishes in the nineteen series events.
Joey's best performance during the MARS campaign came on July 14 when he finished fifth at the Bolivar Speedway in Bolivar.
Overall, Joey reached victory lane three times while amassing eleven Top Five performances and sixteen Top Ten efforts in the thirty-two shows that he entered in 2006.
He was able to claim a pair of wins at the Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, along with a single victory at the 64 Speedway in Augusta, Arkansas. You can view all of the finishes for the #97m team online at www.joeymack.com.
"It was a pretty good season overall for us," quoted Mack today via telephone. "We had some good runs with the MARS Series, but we missed a couple of feature events and that hurt us in points. Another thing that I was pleased with, along with winning three races, was the fact that we didn't tear up a bunch of stuff. Our car and motor program are in good shape heading into the off-season and we will work hard to get ready for the 2007 season. I want to thank all of our sponsors for their help again this year, along with my family and crew for their unwavering support."
