HOWARDVILLE -- Mary M. Farr, 97, died Dec. 1, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 29, 1908, in Charleston, Miss., daughter of the late Abe and Mary M. Jones Randolph, she moved to Bernie at the age of 24. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of New Madrid where she served in the choir and on the Mother Board.
On Jan. 1, 1928, she married James W. Farr Sr., who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were three sons, one brother, 15 sisters, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Survivors included: 11 sons and eight daughters-in-law, Moses and Katherine Farr and Calvin and Dorothy Farr of Chicago, Clifton Farr, Clennon and Lorene Farr, Clayton and Bessie Farr and Albert Farr of Howardville, Floyd and Lillie Farr of New Madrid, Larry and Ingrid Farr of Augusta, Ga., W.C. and Gladys Farr and Luther and Alberta Farr of St. Louis and Richard Farr of Sikeston; two daughters, Liza Lofton and Lila Chrisp of Howardville; one sister, Laura Hudson of Chicago; 90 grandchildren, 139 great-grandchildren, 39 great-
great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Howardville. Services will be held at noon Saturday at the Water of Life Church of Howardville. The Rev. Leotis Aikens, pastor of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery at Catron.
