BERTRAND -- Suetta Grove Brown, 70, died at 2 p.m. April 8, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Dec. 25, 1936, in Matthews, daughter of the late Luther and Esther Bell Swinney Brown, she had lived most of her life in Mississippi County, where she worked as a waitress at Bessie's Restaurant. For several years she owned and operated ceramic craft shops in Charleston and Paris, Tenn. She was of the Baptist belief.
Her first husband, Carl Groves, preceded her in death. On Sept. 23, 1977, she married Marion Douglas Brown, who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2001. One sister, Fleta Jo Johnson, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Emmett Carl Groves and A.J. "Tony" Groves of Charleston and Michael Groves of Bloomfield; one brother, Calvin Brown of Oak Ridge; five sisters, Jean Gulley and Shirley Montavon of DeKalb, Ill., Lezona "Donie" Morehead of Headland, Ala., Mary Lou Lieding of Orlando, Fla., and Esther Colleen Johnson of Malta, Ill.; and seven grandchildren and five great-
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with her brother, Calvin Brown of Oak Ridge, officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Stephen Groves, A.J. Groves, Mark Griggs, Joey Dorris, Clifford Hines and Terry Morrow.
