WAPPAPELLO -- Roy E. Rodgers, 58, died Feb. 16, 2007, near Wappapello.
Born April 22, 1948, in Essex, son of the late John W. and Freeda Powell Rodgers, he lived most of his life in Wappapello where he was a member of the VFW Post No. 3416 and the Eagles Aerie No. 4066. He was a truck driver for Delta Asphalt in Cape Girardeau and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include: Tammy Rodgers and Rita Rodgers of the state of Missouri; two brothers, Dennis Rodgers of Wappapello and Jimmy Rogers of Titus, Ala.; three sisters, LaVerne Snider of Wellsville, Rita Corlew of Hemet, Calif., and Ocia Bryant of Wappapello; and two grandchildren, Matthew Rodgers and Shelby Rodgers.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Sam Brotherton of Wappapello will officiate.
Burial with full military honors conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will follow in the Puxico Cemetery at Puxico.
