SIKESTON - Jackie Lee "Jack" Taylor, 71, died at 1:20 a.m., Nov. 22, 2006, at his residence.
Born Jan. 18, 1935, in Sikeston, to Gazle Davis Taylor of Sikeston and the late Delmar Taylor, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the occupation of France and Germany and was self-employed in construction. He was in the Men's Ministry at Trinity Gospel Church, was a private pilot, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
On March 5, 1994, in Sikeston, he married Lenore Fortner Godsey, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are: two sons and daughters-in-
law, Anthony Lee and Paula Taylor of Sikeston and Kurt M. and Michelle Taylor of Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky Jane and David Welch of Prairie Village, Kan.; two stepsons and their wives, Shelby and Maggie Godsey of Farmington and Dr. Jim and Robin Godsey of Warren, N.J.; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Lynne Godsey.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Larry G. Davis, pastor of the Trinity Gospel Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
