MORRIS CHAPEL, Tenn. -- Charles Heavener, 66, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 8:20 a.m. Dec. 25, 2006, at the Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Mo.
Born Nov. 7, 1940, in Bay, Ark., son of the late George and Lillie Mae Holt Heavener, he had lived most of his life in the Sikeston area where he was employed in commercial construction until his retirement and was of the Baptist belief.
He had been married to Doris Heavener who survives of Sikeston.
Other survivors include: four sons, Charles Heavener Jr. and Gary Heavener of the state of North Carolina, Jimmy Heavener of the state of Mississippi and Anthony Heavener of Sikeston; three daughters, Amy Heavener, Mickey Lara and Vicki Mae Jobe, all of Sikeston; one brother, Jim Heavener of Almo, Ky.; and one sister, Vera Green of Fenton, Mich.; and 14 grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted today at the Unity Cemetery near Benton, Mo. His brother, Jim Heavener, officiated.
Burial followed under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo.
