EAST PRAIRIE -- Will Mason Morris Sr., 97, died Oct. 6, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born June 25, 1909, in Hickman, Ky., son of the late Monroe C. and Flora Bessie Nichols, he had lived most of his life in Mississippi County. He owned and operated Morris Grocery and was a member of the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie.
On Nov. 26, 1928, he married Gertie Colvin who preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 1985.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bessie Morris; and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carol Morris of East Prairie, Will and Janet Morris Jr. of Scott City and Leroy and Elode Morris of Poplar Bluff; four daughters and one son-in-law, Frances Grissom, Berniece Armstrong and Norma Jean and Ronnie Tatum of East Prairie and Willie Catt of McEwen, Tenn.; and 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday with David Dowdy officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
