SILVA -- Benjamin Franklin Horman, 72, died Oct. 4, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 2, 1934, at Chaffee, son of the late Frederick Dewey and Mayme Christine Griffin Horman, he was a self-employed farmer and had retired from Dame Lumber Co. in Chaffee where he had worked as a lumber sales clerk. A member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Glennon, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On Feb. 1, 1964, he married Bernice Eftink who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, William Horman of Cape Girardeau and Benjie Horman of Jackson; three daughters, Ellen Horman of Glennon, Linda Walton of North Pole, Alaska, and Kathy Eftink of Sikeston; three brothers, Alfred Horman of St. Louis, Robert Horman of Chaffee and James Horman of Jonesboro, Ark.; four sisters, Alice Kiefer of Chaffee, Aileen Fielner of Lamar, Dorothy Horman of Jackson and Ina Eftink of Leopold; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with the Rev. Ralph Duffner serving as celebrant.

Burial with full military honors followed in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Glennon.
