BENTON -- A rural health clinic will open in Benton this month.

Ron Inman, a family nurse practitioner and co-owner of the Comprehensive Family Health Care, said the practice will "offer just about everything." Physicals, minor surgeries and DOT physicals, among other services, will be performed there.

Medical director at the clinic will be Dr. Michael Jessup, Inman's partner and co-owner.

Comprehensive Family Health Care will be located at 32 W. Missouri St. in Benton, behind the city hall. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Feb. 11.

But to give people a chance to check out the clinic before it opens, there will be an open house from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

"It's going to be a kind of meet and greet to walk in and check us out," said Inman.

All insurance plans should be accepted, said Inman, noting that it is a preferred Medicaid Clinic.

"It will service the area," said Inman, noting that there aren't any full-practice clinics in the immediate area. "Scott County is considered a low-provider service area, and there's not enough providers to meet the needs of the community."

SIKESTON -- Now through Valentines Day, Leslie Winchester of Winchester Chiropractic and Wellness will provide new patients with a free first visit along with a $20 donation to the American Heart Association.

"Many people start their new year with resolutions to take better care of themselves," said Winchester "Seeing a chiropractor regularly is a great way to keep those resolutions. Partnering with the American Heart Association in February for this fundraiser is a great time to remind people about their hearts and how to better take care of them."
