Residents should watch for flooding

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

PADUCAH, Ky. - The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the region through this evening.

Abundant moisture combined with a frontal boundary expected to stall over part of the four-state today will set the stage for heavy rainfall generally along and northwest of a line from Boonville, Ind., to Cairo, Ill, to Dexter, Mo. From one to three inches of rain are possible with the system.

With area soils still rather saturated due to recent precipitation, rainfall of this magnitude will likely produce localized flooding, especially in low lying and flood prone areas, the Weather Service warned.
