Buz Gaylord

DEXTER -- Virlin "Buz" Gaylord, 78, died Jan. 13, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 29, 1928, at Cooter, son of the late Horace Edgar and Bessie Jane Martin Gaylord, he was a regional claims manager for Shelter Insurance and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He married Ruth Rainey Dreadon at Piggott, Ark., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 2005.

Survivors include: two daughters, Tonya Gaylord of Gaithersburg, Md., and Tyra Gaylord of Granger, Ind.; two stepsons, Larry Dreadon of Watertown, Tenn., and Jerry Dreadon of Tyrone, Ga.; and two brothers, M.H. Gaylord and Woodrow Gaylord of Essex.

Visitation is from noon until time for services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Howard Duer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
