DEXTER - Vevlean Clary, 90, died Jan. 6, 2007, in the Golden Living Center at Dexter.

Born April 24, 1916, at Bloomfield, to the late Jesse Colbert and Geneva Fitzpatrick Hamby, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Pentecostal Church at Dexter.

Survivors include: one daughter, Maxine Garner of Dexter; one sister, Hazel Robinson of Dexter; and seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: one son, Murlyn "Murl" Clary; four brothers, Thurman G. Hamby, Jesse Eugene Hamby, John Payton Hamby and Jake Freeman Hamby; one sister, Daphna Worley; and one grandson, Don Garner.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. today at the Rainey-

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Robert Bentley will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery.
