CHAFFEE - Donna Maria Cannon, 62, died Jan. 5, 2007, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 20, 1944, at Elkton, Md., to Clyde Harold and Cathryn Ruth Edwards Smith, she was a switchman at Southwestern Bell Telephone and a member of the Arbor General Baptist Church in Delta. She was past president of the Baptist Missionary Society and Cape Chapter of Telephone Pioneers and past secretary of the Missouri State Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers. She was charter member and first vice-president of the Chaffee Historical Society, past president of Chaffee Athletic Booster Club, secretary of the German Day Association, member of the Chaffee Chamber of Commerce, Chaffee High School Board of Education and Cub Scout den mother.
On Jan. 26, 1981, she married William "Bill" Cannon, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jennifer Ivester II of Jackson and Wade and Jaimie Cannon of Chaffee; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Chris and Pam Cannon of Cape Girardeau; two stepdaughters and a son-in-law, Karen Brown of Springfield and Kathi and Tim Stone of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Ronnie Smith of Jefferson City and Bob Smith of Chaffee; two grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and one great-
Visitation is at 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Kermit Patton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.
