Identity of dead body is released

SIKESTON -- Department of Public Safety officers have released the identity of the woman found lying near a roadway Friday.

Sharon K. Collins, 49, was found lying unresponsive around 10 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Stoddard Street and Malone Street.

No foul play is suspected. An autopsy was performed Sunday, and results will be available in about six months.

Currently, DPS is trying to establish a time line of Collins' activities before she was found.
