Speakout 1/28

I'm so glad to read the article in the paper on Friday about the imaging company that makes you think you are going to get a job as a model and everything. My son was involved in that. We made a lot of trips to St. Louis and spent a lot of money. He got one 5x7 picture and some paper ones and that was all he got out of all the money that was spent up there. Then they contacted him and wanted him to go somewhere else, but you had to have another big bunch of money to do it. I'm so glad this company has finally got caught up with and how they are cheating the public.

Dear Sir, The Division of Senior Services and Disability is combined with other services for young adults and abuse and so forth. They cannot service the senior disabled or the senior citizens because the money that is used for those purposes is being diverted for youngsters and other programs of abuse and so forth. We need to get rid of our governor by voting him out.

I'm calling about the St. Louis based agency, Images. I read that article and I am very well aware of that agency because I have a contract with them. I have had for a couple of years. I do go to St. Louis occasionally and do some work for that agency. My first job I received payment for just showing up to that agency. I have never taken an acting class with the agency, and I also did not have to pay $395 for the agency photographer, but I was given a choice. I see there is a lot of complaints against that agency. Knowing how agencies work and being an agent myself, I don't know why so many complaints have been filed against that agency. Being someone who knows firsthand and being signed with that company, I don't have any complaints with them at all. I have received many calls for jobs that I have had to turn down due to my schedule. I saw that article and wanted to speak out and give another side to the story.

Who does your sports coverage of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament? I would like to inform you there were two tournaments being held at Scott Central Jan. 16-19. One varsity and one junior varsity. The only coverage you had was for the varsity games. Let me tell you the JV teams were just as exciting as the varsity. These younger guys on every team play their hearts out and deserve at least a paragraph or two in the coverage. As proud grandparents of a JV player, we attended every game and the hometown support of every game was super, JV or varsity. Shame on you sportswriter for ignoring these hardworking kids, coaches and their fans.

Everybody has forgotten about something. I have heard all about the celebrating of Martin Luther King's birthday, but Robert E. Lee's birthday was the same day. How come nobody is talking about him? I celebrated Robert E. Lee's birthday.
