GREENBRIER, Ark. -- Dr. Ron E. "Ronnie" Blair, 59, formerly of Catron, Mo., died Sept. 5, 2006, at his home in Greenbrier.

Born May 11, 1947 in Catron, son of the late Clifton Edward and Alfredia York Blair, he was a doctor of veterinary medicine having received his degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He had 28 years of employment with the federal government from the Farmers Home Administration, the Department of Labor and the USDA Veterinary Services of Arkansas where he was the area veterinarian in charge. He also had three years of private practice in southern Missouri in and around Cape Girardeau, Mo. A U.S. Army veteran, he served two tours of Vietnam and attained the rank of captain during his seven years in the military.

His wife, Samantha "Sam" Blair, survives of the home.

A memorial service will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
