SIKESTON -- Joan (Chadd) Gardner, 72, died Aug. 16, 2006, at home in Sikeston, with her family.
She was born Aug. 29, 1933, in Kewanee, daughter of the late Elmer and Camille (Lands) Chadd. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-
grandmother, sister and friend.
She was the wife of 20 years to Roy Gardner who preceded her in death.
She was th beloved mother of Betty and Bob Croney, Mike Gardner, Gloria "Sissy" Gardner and Lois and Al Dirickson, all of Sikeston, and Yvonne Gross of Jackson; stepmother of Leroy Gardner, Ray Gardner and Linda Ramsey; grandmother of Lewis "Bucky" Russell, Terressa Ash, Drew "Andy" Gardner, Cory Ellison, Shavonna, Leslie and Allen Dirickson and DeAnna Gross; sister of Doris Skelton, Wanda Kennedy, J.D. Chadd and Jim Chadd all of Sikeston, Glenda Chadd of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Chadd of O'Fallon and Tom Chadd of Lilbourn; several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Kearbey; four brothers, James L. Chadd, Elmer Russell Jr., Steve Chadd, and Larry Chadd; and one son-in-law, Lewis Russell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home where funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ron Tate, pastor of First Assembly of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
