PORTAGEVILLE -- Elmo Lincoln "Fuzz" Johnson, 82, died Aug. 15, 2006, at his home.
Born Nov. 18, 1923, in Garth, Ky., son of the late Ed W. and Susan Barnes Johnson, he served with the 10th Mt. Division of the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy, North Africa and Austria. In 1959, he was born again and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville. He was co-owner of the 61 Garage and Body Shop for several years before going to work at Noranda Aluminum from which he retired in 1989.
On Nov. 20, 1945, he married Juanita Louise Taylor who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Jimmy and Cindee Johnson of Portageville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Phyllis and Tony Thompson of Round Rock, Texas, and Judy Johnson of Portageville; two brothers, Grey Johnson and Charles "Chug" Johnson of Lilbourn; one sister, Susan Tatum of Jackson; one brother-in-law, Harvey Taylor of Lilbourn; six grandchildren, Walter Thompson of Camarillo, Calif., Jason Thompson of Ventura, Calif., Sherry Lorenze of Snowqualine, Wash., Jacob Johnson of Sikeston and Amiee Jinks and Zachary Johnson of Portageville; and two great-grandchildren, Julie Anne Jinks and Evan Luke Johnson.
Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death in addition to his parents.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Dr. Buck Morton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
