MADISON, Ind. - Emma "Curly" Marie Wilson Kriete, 83, died at 4:51 a.m. Sept. 4, 2006, at Angola.

Mrs. Kriete entered this life on Sept. 27, 1922, in North Vernon, Ind., the daughter of Emmerson Orvine and Edna Mae McFadden Wilson. She was raised in the North Vernon community moving to Madison in 1941. She was a 1940 graduate of North Vernon High School. Emma had worked for the Southwestern School Corp. as the food services director for several years until 1964. She then was employed as a secretary for the former Conn Organ Co. in Madison and later served as the secretary and officer manger for Kriete livestock and Kriete Real Estate. She had been a member of the former Madison Country Club for many years and a faithful member of the Faith Lutheran Church where she had served as the organist. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, enjoyed golf and was an avid bridge player.

On April 26, 1941, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Ind., she was united in marriage to Harlan F. Kriete. To this union arrived two sons to bless their home. Emma and Harlan enjoyed 64 years of marriage together until his death on July 28, 2005.

She is survived by: two sons, Harlan William Kriete and his wife, Donna, of Angola and the Rev. Robert L. Kriete and his wife, Nancy, of Union, Mo.; one sister, Georganna Wilson Parlo and her husband, Mel of Fort Meyers, Fla.; one half sister, Nancy Jane Bartlett Sharp and her husband, Buford, of North Vernon; one half brother, Jack Lee Bartlett and his wife, Nora, of Scanfield, Miss.; four grandchildren, Susan and Jason Hosford, Andrea and Matt Millard, Gregory Alan and Leslie Kriete, Matthew Aaron and Niki Kriete; six great-

grandchildren, Madelyn and Jeffrey Hosford, Anna and Mark Henry Millard, Connor and Jenna Kriete; several nieces; nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Emmerson Orvine Wilson, on March 31, 1927; her stepfather, Russell Bartlett, on July 26, 1981; her mother, Edna Mae McFadden Wilson Bartlett, on Aug. 19, 1998; her half brother, Harold James "Jimmy" Bartlett, on July 19, 1979.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre at 325 Demaree Drive in Madison and from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, 3024 North Michigan Road. The Rev. Jeff Pflug will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Madison.
