CARUTHERSVILLE - A two-month old infant died after she was discovered not breathing by her mother.
Responding to a 911 call at 6:42 a.m. Thursday, Caruthersville police officers went to a residence on Beckwith Street where they were met by Alyssa Hilburn holding her daughter, Myia. Hilburn informed the officers the child had stopped breathing.
Officers checked for vital signs and began performing CPR until the arrival of a medical crew. The child was taken to the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead by Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall.
Although the cause of death has yet to be determined, Police Chief Chris Riggs reported no foul play is suspected.
