Born Aug. 21, 1924, in Manilla, Ark., daughter of the late Roy and Laura Williams Franks, she had been a homemaker and had worked as a nurse's aide in the Pemiscot County (Mo.) Hospital for 15 years. She graduated from Caruthersville High School in Caruthersville, Mo., and was a member of the First Church of God in Portageville, Mo.
On May 27, 1944, she married Melbourne Lynell Murrell who preceded her in death on April 19, 1995.
Three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Tom Lightle of Portland, Vickie Smith of Mulvane, Kan., and Cathy Murrell of Paris, Tenn.; one brother, Joe Franks of MacKenzie, Tenn.; one sister, Daphine Hess of Laguna Woods, Calif.; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the First Church of God in Portageville with the Rev. Bob Kespelher officiating.
Burial will follow at the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville.
