BERTRAND -- Blanche Krauss Bowman, 83, formerly of Wyatt, died at 2:50 p.m. Feb. 22, 2007, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1923, in Mississippi County, to the late William and Lillian Krauss, she had lived in Mississippi County her entire life and had worked as a beautician. She was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
On Aug. 5, 1944, she married Haskell Bowman who preceded her in death on May 7, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one infant sibling.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kay Bowman of Bertrand; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mike Gentry of Bertrand; one sister, Nell Laughlin of Grass Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Bowman of Kennesaw, Ga., Katie Bowman of Bertrand, Ami (Derek) Housman of Bertrand, Lisa (Adam) Russell of Sikeston and Steven (Amber) Hodges of Bertrand; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren Housman, Emily Housman, Zack Housman, Ethan Russell, Tharen Russell and Libertie Hodges.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of Wyatt Baptist Church, and the Rev. Charles Kohlbaker of Bertrand will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
