ST. LOUIS - Leo J. Klekamp, 89, formerly of Sikeston, died at 12:21 a.m. June 25, 2006, at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.
Born March 31, 1917, in Washington, to the late Henry J. and Elizabeth Sellmeyer Klekamp, he was a mechanical engineer for 46 years with Fluor Daniel Corporation of Sugarland, Texas. He was a member of The Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 and of the Catholic belief.
On June 7, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Norma Jean Thompson, who preceded him in death on May 14, 1989.
One son, one daughter, two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joan L. Sain of Sikeston; one brother, Marc Klekamp of Sand Spring, Okla.; two sisters, Audrey Hughes of St. Louis and Shirley Sieve of Villa Ridge; eight grandchildren and three great-
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Church with the Rev. Richard Rolwing officiating.
Burial with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Group will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
