EAST PRAIRIE - Considerable disagreement and discussion concerning the setting of the new sewer users fee occurred during Thursday evening's city council session. Also on the agenda was transfer of the cable television franchise and review of delinquent taxes.
SIKESTON - Students at Southeast Elementary School were instructed on fire prevention and what to do in case of a fire Thursday. The new Roscoe Fog/
Smoke Generator, which emits non-toxic smoke, gives the students first-
hand experience on how to escape quickly and safely from a burning building.

CHAFFEE - Through the annual Trooper on the Train program, law enforcement officials and railroad personnel hope to emphasize the dangers of trying to beat the locomotive. Officers ride the train and keep an eye out for motorists who cross illegally. Reports are made to additional officers who then track down the motorists and ticket them. In Missouri for 1995, there were 106 motor vehicle/train collisions with 21 killed and 45 injured, compared with the 1994 statistics of 111 collisions, 12 killed and 42 injured.
