CAPE GIRARDEAU - Eighth District U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson is heading back to the farm.
Emerson's annual August Farm Tour of Southern Missouri agricultural producers begins Monday and concludes Aug. 11.
"I am really looking forward to the 25th annual Emerson Farm Tour," Emerson said. "The Farm Tour is a long tradition that creates an important dialog between our producers and their elected representatives. Southern Missouri is home to a wide variety of agricultural producers."
The Farm Tour offers a chance for Emerson to see a number of different farm operations and discuss ways to get the most out of our agricultural economy with residents of the district. Emerson called these discussions "extremely important as the negotiations over the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization begin."
Emerson is a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture in the U.S. House of Representatives.
