Rodeo traffic routes set

Sunday, August 6, 2006

SIKESTON - Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo fans will have to steer their vehicles into designated lots rather than parking along Ingram Road.

Beginning Monday, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety will not allow roadside parking along North Ingram from Salcedo Road to HH Highway. This will stay in effect until the end of the Rodeo on Aug. 12.

Traffic flow during the primary rodeo performance during the early evening hours (between approximately 6 p.m. -- 7:30 p.m.) of Aug. 9 -- 12, will be one-way only, northbound from Salcedo Road to the rodeo grounds entrance. Two-way traffic will continue to flow from HH to the Rodeo grounds.

After the rodeo performances and concerts are over, one-way traffic will be permitted southbound only from the rodeo ground gates to Salcedo Road; west on Salcedo Road to North Main, where two-way traffic will resume. Again, two-way traffic will be allowed during the exiting of rodeo traffic from the rodeo gates north to HH Highway.
