CHARLESTON -- A suspect is in custody for the shooting of a Sikeston man Monday night in Charleston.
About 7 p.m. Monday Charleston Department of Public Safety received phone calls of gunshots heard in the 700 block of Vine Street, where responding officers found 28-year-old Olando Sheron of Sikeston, who had been shot, according to Capt. Robert Hearnes. Sheron was transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital for medical treatment.
A suspect has been identified but authorities are not releasing the name until formal charges are filed, Hearnes said. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
