With the trees cleared away, the work at Mud Ditch near New Madrid is now evident. The St. John's Bayou-New Madrid Floodway Project that will ultimately close the gap between the frontline and setback levees began earlier this fall by Hill Brothers Construction of Falkner, Miss.
