DEXTER -- Steven Eugene Cooper, 52, died June 5, 2006, in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Nov. 8, 1953, at Poplar Bluff, son of Elmer Eugene Cooper of Spanaway, Wash., and the late Betty Zimmerman Cooper, he was a former supervisor at the Brown Shoe Company at Farmington and had been a line worker at ArvinMeritor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and attended the First General Baptist Church of Dexter.
Survivors include: two sons, Jeremy Cooper of Sarasota, Fla., and Anthony Cooper of Wappapello; maternal grandparents, Howard and Marcelle Zimmerman of Bernie; one grandchild; and a special friend, Tina Gunter of the home.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents who raised him, Marcus L. and Lula Cooper.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Kenneth Biggs and Don Cooper will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
