Dorothy Bass

CHAFFEE - Dorothy Jean Bass, 58, died at 11:15 a.m. Sept. 10, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 23, 1948, in Keyser, W.Va., to the late John and Effie Clark Shannon, she was a homemaker.

On April 10, 1984, she married Spencer Bass who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Spencer Bass II of Chaffee; six daughters, Robin Parker of the state of Florida; Beatrice Campbell of Las Vegas, Tammy Bradley of Clearwater, Fla., Ann Crawford of LaCenter, Ky. and Ruth Harrison and Samantha Bass of Chaffee; one brother, John Clark of the state of California; three sisters, Marcie Newsome of Utah City, Utah, Darlene Bancink of Star City, W.Va. and Mary Gibbons of the state of California; and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Rev. John Tolbert officiated.

Pallbearers were: Gerald Crawford, Billy Little, Ben Harrison, Steve Snyder, Joshua Borders and Victor Barron.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee was in charge of arrangements.
