Honoring the American flag

Spence Vaughn, a member of Boy Scout Troop 41, folds a worn and tattered American flag that will be retired during a U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony. The ceremony will be at 7 p.m.Tuesday behind the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. All worn-out or tattered U.S. flags can be dropped off at the SACC office or at the VFW Hall on Smith St. Also helping Vaughn with preparing for the ceremony were Ryan Norton, Ben Hunter and Alex Lesey. Flag Day is Tuesday.
