SIKESTON - Darlene "Dee" Perkins Fuchs, 61, died at 7:45 p.m. July 20, 2006, at her home.
Born Jan. 3, 1945, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Arthur Sheldon and Viola Mae Spence Perkins, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Frances Xavier Church of Sikeston, where she served on the Parish Council and was a member and past chairman of the Altar Sodality. A 1962 graduate of Sikeston High School, she had been a chairman of the Missouri Delta Medical Center Women's Auxiliary and knitted baby caps for newborns. She was a member and past president of Chapter JU of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and spent many hours volunteering for projects within the community.
On July 6, 1962, in Sikeston, she married N. Edward Fuchs III, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, N. Edward and Marlene Fuchs IV of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Marguerite Elizabeth and Jim Johnson of Independence; one sister, Janet Bacon of Turlock, Calif; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Fuchs and Nathalie Fuchs of Bloomfield and Joseph and Adam McMikle both of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Frances Xavier Church. The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg and Monsignor Richard Rolwing will officiate.
Private burial services will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Fuchs, Bob Fuchs, John Fuchs, N. Edward Fuchs IV, John W. Fuchs Jr. and James Watkins.
