DEXTER -- Helen Elizabeth Barker, 87, died Oct. 8, 2006, in the Cypress Point Health Care.
Born Oct. 19, 1918, in Stoddard County, daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel Sitton Williamson, she was a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church near Bernie. She had been a former volunteer with the Dexter Senior Center (O.A.K.S.) and a cook for the Bernie school system.
On July 9, 1938, at Bloomfield, she married Buford "Boots" Barker who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1997.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, Rex Williamson; and two sisters, Louise Langley and Iris Russo.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Jeanie Barker of Dexter and Larry and Donnis Barker of Arnold; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Doug Stinson of Hallsville; one brother, Mike Williamson of Poplar Bluff; six sisters, Pauline Pruitt and Georgia Brown of Dexter, Mabel King of Leola, S.D., Jan Lasater of St. Louis, Susan Karr of Kansas City and Kay Nelson of Westport; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Den Williams and Harvey Noyes will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
