SIKESTON -- Mary Lou Johnson, 72, died April 7, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 29, 1933, in Portageville, she was the daughter of the late Louie Rice and Margaret Agatha Mumma Largent.

On Dec. 20, 1953, in Sikeston, she and Jimmy W. "Chunk" Johnson were married.

She was employed at White Rexall Pharmacy, Medical Arts Pharmacy and Corning Labs in Sikeston for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. She was also a member of the Blodgett Women's club and served as a Girl Scout leader.

One of her greatest enjoyments was spending time with her grandchildren.

Loving survivors include: her husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas W. and Cheryl Johnson of New Hamburg; two daughters and sons-

in-law, Cyndi L. and Joe Lankheit of Sikeston and Susan A. and Frank Babcock of Lake Villa, Ill.; one brother and two sisters-in-law, James D. and Carol Largent and Sharon Largent Green, all of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and their spouses, Allison Johnson of New Hamburg, Conner Babcock and Cord Babcock of Lake Villa, Maria (Kevin) Glenn of Charleston, Justin (Melissa) Lankheit of Brentwood and Jake Lankheit of Charlotte, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles B. Largent and William M. Largent.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Geoff Posegate and the Rev. Harold Norton, both pastors of First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery at Blodgett.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Largent, Ellis Largent, Charles "Chuck" Largent, Mark Chapman, Darren Chapman, Justin Lankheit, Doug Menz and David Harper.
