Davey Newcomer

Born Feb. 25, 1935, in East Prairie, son of the late James Louis and Carrie Bond Newcomer, he had lived most of his life in Chaffee but lived the last two years in Bloomfield. A member of St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia, he had served in the National Guard from 1951 to 1959.

In 1952, he married Wanda Mae White who preceded him in death in 1991. On Oct. 2, 1999, in Dexter, he married Novella Linville who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Randy Newcomer of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter, Robyn Hindman of Chaffee; two stepsons, James Ervin Razer of Bloomfield and Leland Leslie Razer of Risco; one stepdaughter, Diana Hanner of Valier, Ill.; two brothers, Eugene "Butch" Newcomer of Jackson and Darroyl Newcomer of Hudson, Wis.; one sister, Melba Linville of Wood River, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

One brother, James "Bud" Newcomer; and one granddaughter also preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Dan Sitze of Bloomfield officiating.

Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.
