Leon Howell

NEW MADRID -- Leon F. "Bug" Howell, 74, died Jan. 28, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 18, 1932, in Steele, son of the late Lonnie B. and LaVonia Salsberry Howell, he was a retired school teacher and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was married to Violet "Vi" Howell, who preceded him in death in 1997.

Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Graveside services will then begin at 2 p.m. in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Colvett officiating.

Burial will follow with full military honors.
