POWE -- Lillian Mae Whitehead, 75, died Jan. 28, 2007, at Golden Living Center in Dexter.

Born Dec. 12, 1931, in Powe, daughter of the late Willis and Hester Mekan Myers, she was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ in Powe.

On Dec. 17, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., she married Virl Calvin Whitehead, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Myers and John Myers; and three sisters, Clara Myers, Sue Myers and Helen Whitaker.

Survivors include: six sons, Calvin Dean Whitehead, Timothy Dale Whitehead, Virgil Ray Whitehead, David William Whitehead and Jonathan Dewayne Whitehead, all of Dexter and Kevin Thomas Whitehead of Puxico; five daughters, Cathryn Mae Jones of Millersville, Janette Marie Powell of Bernie, Nancy Ann Anderson of Ledbetter, Ky., Deanna Lynn Seager of Granite City, Ill., and Natalie Faye Dowdy of Jackson; two sisters, Charlotte Jurek of Caldwell, Texas, and Norma LeDue of St. Charles, Ill.; and 26 grandchildren and 13 great-


Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. Shelby Taulbee will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery in rural Dexter.
