MT. JULIET, Tenn. - Joseph Elton Grindstaff, 52, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died April 11, 2006, at his home.

Born Jan. 11, 1954, at Granite City, Ill., he attended Church on the Rock in Mt. Juliet.

Survivors include: his father and stepmother, Gaylord and Delores Grindstaff of Sikeston; one son, Joseph Grindstaff of St. Louis; five daughters, Angela Snyder and Heather Fowler of Granite City, Ill., Jessica Grindstaff and Chelsea Grindstaff of St. Louis and Cathy Jo Grindstaff of Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, Tim Grindstaff of Mt. Juliet and Mark Grindstaff of Seattle; two grandchildren, Gavin Snyder and Gabrielle Snyder of Granite City; two aunts, Norma Jean Grindstaff of Sikeston and Madean King of Shell Knob, Mo.; and one uncle, Kenneth Grindstaff of St. Peters, Mo.

Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Gaylord Grindstaff, pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church of Sikeston, and the Rev. Tim Grindstaff, pastor of Church on the Rock of Mt. Juliet, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
