Storm aid

Tuesday, April 11, 2006

-- Contact your local insurance agent following a damaging storm/tornado. If their office has been demolished from the weather, contact the company's national office.

-- Contact your local emergency management agency director.

-- Contact the Missouri Tornado Disaster Assistance Hotline (866-254-0140). Due to the overwhelming need for assistance following the recent tornadoes in Missouri, the hotline was coordinated to provide information and referrals for disaster survivors, match people wishing to volunteer with volunteer organizations and match donated items with Missouri communities. Since March, the hotline has received over 300 calls.

-- Contact the American Red Cross. The Red Cross can put you into contact with organizations/volunteers to meet your needs.

-- Missouri citizens or businesses that sustained March 9-13 or March 31-

April 3 storm-related damages may call 1-800-621-3362 (1-800-621-

FEMA) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
