BENTON -- Two Scott County teenagers are in custody in connection to the vandalism spree that included slashing tires and spray painting buildings and vehicles in Oran.

Heather Turner, 17, and Melba Hays, 17, of Morley are charged with property damage and tampering. They are being held in Scott County Jail on $10,000 cash bond set by Judge David C. Mann.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said Wednesday after following up on original reports taken by Oran police officers, deputies identified the culprits and obtained the confessions from Turner and Hays concerning their participation in the property damage.

The incidents were reported Aug. 22 to Oran Police Department. The follow-

up investigation conducted by deputies Gregg Ourth and Bobby Penrod revealed tires were cut on four vehicles, and a building and two of the damaged vehicles were also spray-painted.
