ORAN - Leon William Diebold, 93, died at 6:50 p.m. June 12, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 15, 1912, in New Hamburg, son of the late Charley and Theresa Leible Diebold, he owned and operated Leon Diebold Insurance Agency in Oran for 34 years . He was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality and a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.
On Dec. 29, 1932, he married Marcella C. Stubenrauch, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 1998.
Two sons, five brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-
grandchild also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Bennett of Lake Worth, Fla. and Ella Callow of Scott City; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 10 great-
great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Judy Pobst of Oran.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. at the Amick-
Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. The Rev. John Harth will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: David Callow, Shane Callow, Ladd Callow, Matt Callow, Ronnie Diebold and Ronnie Lee Diebold.
