CHARLESTON -- Robert Lee Riggens, 53, died at 12:14 p.m. June 11, 2006, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 7, 1953, in Wyatt, son of Dorothy Sinks Riggens of Charleston and the late Charlie Riggens, he was of the Baptist belief and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam war.
He married Carolyn Jones, who survives of the state of Florida.
Other survivors include: two sons, Rahshun Davis and Robert Davis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight brothers and seven sisters-in-law, Charles and Mae Riggens of Hinesville, Ga., Ronnie and Sharon Riggens, Ardest and Georgia Riggens of Charleston, Duane and Bevavly Riggens of Chicago, Donell Riggens, Finney and Martha Riggens, George and Val Riggens and Louis and Vickie Riggens, all of Fort Wayne; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gloria and James Holmes of Chicago, Shirley and Larry Howard of Fort Wayne, Pat and Owen Terry of Cairo, Ill. and Barbara Cleaves of Charleston; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Moton officiating.
Burial with Full Military Rites will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
