BERTRAND -- Donald A. Lynn, 83, died at 11 a.m. Aug. 19, 2006 at the Puxico Nursing Center.
Born May 14, 1923, at Neosho, son of the late Lafe and Elizabeth Lynn, he had lived in Bertrand most of his life and had been employed with the Brown Shoe Company at Charleston for a number of years until his retirement. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and then later with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was of Protestant belief.
On Jan. 5, 1945, he married Wylmoth "Wilma" Sweet who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2000.
Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Gene and Mary Jo Lynn of Wappapello; one daughter, Diane Reeves of Huachuca, Ariz.; one sister, Victoria Surface of Sikeston; and four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Bill Meeks, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston with military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
