SIKESTON - Lucy Miner Brooks, 80, died Oct. 17, 2006, at her home.
Born June 29, 1926, in Stanton, Tenn., daughter of the late Glover and Clara Greene Williams, she was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston.
On Oct. 23, 1945, at Ridgeley, Tenn., she married Charles "Sam"Brooks, who preceded her in death March 11, 1983.
One son, Jerry Brooks; and one brother, L.G. Williams, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Lee and Sue Brooks and Clarence and Sandra Brooks of Sikeston; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lee and Freddie Fitzgerald of Gary, Ind., Alice and George Pollard of Columbia, Tenn., Bernice Brooks-Jones and Alvin Jones of Sikeston and Bobby and Jessie Edmond of Diehlstadt; one sister, Allretta Kellum of Murphysboro, Ill.; one special cousin, L.D. Newsome of Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister-in-law, Bessie Williams of Murphysboro; 24 grandchildren, including three grandchildren whom she raised, Eric Brooks, Toya Jones and Latricia White; and 40 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston
