Vergia Branson

JACKSON, Miss. - Vergia Olean Branson, 79, died Aug. 14, 2006, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Born Oct. 2, 1926, in Scott County, Mo., daughter of the late Noah Franklin and Ida Mae Upchurch Newell, she was a homemaker and a member of Woodville Heights Baptist Church.

She married Samuel Lee Branson who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John F. and Patricia Branson of Jackson and Bill and Cathy Branson of Auburn, Ga.; one daughter, Charlotte M. Rushing of Tampa, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Chris, Chad, Justin and Jessica Branson.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Ann Branson, in addition to her parents.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Clifton Trentham will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
