ESSEX -- Wanda Sanders, 66, died April 17, 2006, at her home in Essex.
Born Nov. 4, 1939, in Choctaw, Ark., daughter of the late George Landy and Sallie Jewel Robison Maddox, she had lived in St. Charles, Ill., before moving to Dexter in 1970. In 1991, she moved to Essex, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In July 1973, in Dexter, she married Roy G. Sanders who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda L. Caldwell of Dexter and Ginger and George Jaco of Jackson; two sisters, Sylvia Hurst of Bloomfield and Loene Bradford of Clinton, Ark.; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One sister, Helen Easley; and five brothers, Bill Dean, Bobby, Billy George, John and Tommy Maddox preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Gary Gilbert of Essex officiating with assistance by Manny Alverado of Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
