Dennis McCoy

Born Dec. 24, 1946, at Dexter, son of Mildred Purcell McCoy of Dexter and the late Leon McCoy, he worked in construction as a floor installer.

On June 5, 2000, he married Sheila Minks Burns, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Dennis McCoy Jr. of St. Louis; three brothers, Gary McCoy, Rodger McCoy and Danny McCoy, all of Dexter; three sisters, Kandy Lyn Koechner of Advance and Caroline Snider and Rachel Childers, both of Dexter; two stepsons, Jamie Dwayne Minks of Dexter and Nathaniel Lee Minks of Essex; and three stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy McCoy and Darrell McCoy.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
