Born Oct. 27, 1926, in Columbus, Ky., to the late Wallace Roberts and Hattie Adrienne Shaw Peebles, he lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
On Nov. 15, 1952, at Piggott, Ark., he married Maudest Lucille Cooper who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sharon Peebles of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Gary Garth of Murray, Ky.; two sisters, Elizabeth Morris of Charleston and Barbara Marshall of Wilmington, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Thomas Peebles, Adrienne Peebles and Lindsey Peebles of East Prairie and Rebecca and Sara Garth of Murray.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Larry Lane will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Peebles, Thomas Peebles, Gary Garth, Kevin Mainord, Rick Givens and Brian Dill.
